Frequently asked questions

Clear answers before you begin

Diftiva helps you compare planned and actual spending, then allocate a positive difference to a goal. It is a self-tracking tool—not a bank or payment service.

What is Diftiva?

Diftiva is a self-tracking tool for the gap between what you planned to spend and what you actually spent. You can assign a positive difference to a goal and later mark an external transfer yourself.

Does Diftiva connect to my bank or move money?

No. Diftiva does not connect to bank accounts, read balances, hold funds, or initiate transfers. Transfer status is based only on what you record after acting outside Diftiva.

What do unallocated, allocated, and marked as transferred mean?

Unallocated is a positive planned-versus-actual difference that has no goal yet. Allocated means you chose an intended goal. Marked as transferred means you reported completing the action outside Diftiva.

Can I record spending that went over plan?

Yes. Diftiva records the result honestly as over plan. It does not create a negative amount to allocate and does not turn that result into a savings claim.

Why can I not change my base currency after recording activity?

Relabeling existing amounts with a new currency would make the history misleading. Once current records or goals exist, Diftiva blocks that change and does not silently convert historical values.

What does optional product analytics collect?

Optional analytics uses random browser and session identifiers with an allowlist of page and workflow events only after consent. Signed-in events may be account-linked. Exact amounts, merchants, notes, email addresses, passwords, verification codes, and access tokens are excluded.

Can I export or request deletion of my data?

Account holders can download a structured JSON copy and submit a correction or deletion request from Data & Account controls. Requests receive a reference number and are not executed from an accidental tap.
